Easiest Cookies Ever.

I had these left over from the holidays so I decided to do some baking.

I found this cookie recipe while checking out Kim's blog. We went to VU together (oh so long ago) and I happened upon her blog somehow. Anyway, it's seriously the easiest cookie recipe, but the best part is you can put whatever you want in it!

Chocolate chips? Sure!

Butterscotch chips? Why not!

Peanut butter cups? If you'd like!

All of the above?? Yup, that's what I did!

Ok, here is the cast of characters:

Ingredients:
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. oats
2 eggs
1 box cake mix (whatever kind you want. I used yellow cake mix)
1 c. goodies of your choice

Mix oil, oats and eggs together for a minute

Next add one box of cake mix

Then stir in one cup of whatever goodies you want. So I may have misread the recipe and added a cup of each of those goodies. It may have been intentional, just perhaps.

Spoon (or form in a ball) on to a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. I actually bake mine for 12 minutes but I think it may have something to do with the massive amounts of goodies I put in there. Perhaps.

Try to let them cool before you devour taste!

Check out Kim's post to see some of the other combinations she's come up with.
Happy Baking!

All Better

After being cooped up in the house while we were sick, we decided to take a little field trip. What better way to get over the memory of being sick than to have something new to focus on?

(Oh, if she only knew what was about to happen...)

Can you guess what we did today?!
(Hey, lady, what IS that thing? Is it something I can eat??)

Yup, we added a little bling. She didn't really cry at first. I guess she was trying to figure out what we were doing to her. She tried to high-tail it outta there though when the girl went to the second ear but daddy held her down rather tightly. That's when she really started crying...probably because she knew she was stuck!

She cried for about a minute then she was done. And back to her happy self in no time!

Down And Out

We'be been thick.
Just laying low, watching tv (gasp!) and trying to rest.

(swaddled with Vicks, inclined, watching sesame street...totally content. uh oh)

Baby girl has started to recover but I probably won't be fully functioning for a couple more days.
We'll be back soon.

FunTimes

After a morning at the doctor for shots, baby girl and I went to visit our friends. With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it had been a while since we had our last play date and we were both overdue for one. We were amazed to see how much the kiddos have grown just in the last month!

 (LOVE his eyes)

They were both sitting up, playing with their toys, and each other! They are much more aware of one another now and it's so cute to see them interacting.

Yes, we took pictures but apparently not very many of them together. OH well. Just imagine them playing with the millions of toys Mr. Jack has. Yet this is what entertained them us the most!

Anayah is getting Jack back for pulling the set down on her in their last photo shoot. Remember this?

Way To Go, Mom

I'm a horrible mom.

Let me set the scene for you: a hallway, a doorway, an infant that likes to see what's going on EVERYWHERE.

Here's how it went down: I was at my parents' house, walking down the hallway toward the kitchen. As I passed the laundry room, miss Anayah threw herself back just as I passed the door frame. Why? No clue. Maybe she wanted to see the washer and dryer. Who knows really.

Not sure if the bump on the head or the loud gasp I emitted scared her more. Poor baby had a bump and a red mark for a few hours.

Horrible mommy.

Don't call CPS.

She was back to her normal self in no time at all. Even with an injury, tummy time is a must.

Still Daddy's Girl

I was looking back through the blog at how much baby girl has changed when I came across this post. I remember thinking how cute it was that she was so interested in a book at 2 weeks old.

Some things haven't changed.

Their bond has only grown stronger through the months and she's still daddy's girl for sure.
