A Month In Review

Apparently the last time I posted was in April! I totally skipped the entire month of May and lo and behold it's pretty much the middle of June! I haven't done any crafting or projects or "fun stuff" around the house so I don't have anything like that to post about. Really, all I have to post about right now is Miss A...and I'm pretty sure you'll get tired of seeing a million a bunch of pictures of her! For those who have asked me to update this bloggity blog, here is a quick recap of what we were up to the last few months...

My parents joined us this year (with my nephew) and my mom found a fun water park for the kids to play and run around...totally FREE! So cool...

Yep, I know, it's so thrilling! Haha. I'll try to keep up on here, but it seems that without projects to post about, I find myself just putting pictures up on Facebook. Hopefully I'll be able to start my office/guest room redo soon. Then I'll have more to blog about! Until next time...

Happy Easter!

This year was pretty mellow as we spent the day in San Diego with my parents. We went to church with them in the morning then had a quiet day at home eating, opening Easter baskets, hunting for eggs, eating candy, oh and did I mention eating?! Haha. Good food, great company, fabulous day! 

 I guess she wasn't happy about the chocolate bunny!

 Notice the eggs in the background? No candy in those so she didn't even pick them up! Haha

We're Still Around

I know it has been WAY too long since I last posted anything new on here. Life has been full of lots of changes lately and we've been busy rolling with it. For those that don't know I'm still unemployed after being laid off in 2010, a month before A was born. The original plan was to stay home with her for a year then go back to work in a district closer to home. Well, she's almost 2 and I still haven't found a full time teaching job. Chances of that happening in a new district any time soon are slim to none so I started thinking of other ways to "go back to work." If I'm being completely honest, I don't really want to go back to work full time. I love being home with A and if we have any more kids, I'd want to be home with them also. So that's when I started the photography "business." I still feel like I have so much to learn that I can't really compete in such a saturated market just yet. I mean, come on, have you seen some of the professional photographers out there?! Very intimidating!! So while I gain more photography experience, I started as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay. I never thought it was something that I would enjoy doing but so far I'm having a blast! I have the flexibility I need to be able to work when I want and still be home with A. I also still have time for family and photography and other commitments.

Which brings me to why we've been MIA. Getting the business launched and started has taken up most of my free time lately but I think I have a good grasp on what I'm doing now so I'll be better at keeping up on here. I also get to start making over one of our guest rooms as my new office so that means projects, projects, projects! I'll definitely keep you posted on those too! Thanks for sticking around.
