New Designs

Remember these onesies we dyed the other day?
Well I came up with a couple of new designs that I'm excited to start using. So far we have an elephant, an owl, and a birdie.

Here's the elephant before I sewed it on...

And this was something sweet for my little munchkin...

Isn't she just the cutest little bug ever?!

Six Months

Has it really been half a year since you joined our family?! It's really hard to remember what life was like before you. I know I say this all the time but you are SUCH a good baby. You are always so happy, content to just be hanging out, spending time with people. You are super nosy and always want to know what's happening around you. You have the best facial expressions and are so funny! I don't know what we did to deserve such an amazing gift, but we are so thankful for you everyday.
During this last month you have continued to be a fantastic eater and sleeper (at night). Some new things you started doing this month include:

sitting up on your own

sleeping without being swaddled (finally!)

eating everything!

trying to master the sippy cup

and texting of course
Just kidding!

Baby girl you truly are the sunshine in our lives. We pray that the Lord continues to pour His favor on your life and blesses you beyond measure. May your sweet spirit and joyful character bring smiles to everyone you meet. We love you so much! ♥

Dye Job

I started working on a onesie order this week and Mandy had wanted to dye some for Jack so they came over to help and learn how easy it is to do. We dyed about 6 onesies in several colors while the kiddos played and ate and hung out. They of course wanted to be a part of the action so we cleared off the counter and let them take over. Maybe next time they can help. Hmm, my own little sweat shop...JUST KIDDING!

No, Jack doesn't own a pink cup...he was borrowing one of Miss Anayah's!

Jack you're making that cracker look SO good! Ha. Love the tongue!

Several hours later the onesies were dyed, washed, and dried. Now they are just waiting for some cute designs on the front.

Guess it's time to be creative.

Baby Boom

No, I'm not pregnant.

Remember the movie Baby Boom? Remember the part where she makes all that applesauce??

Well Mandy reminded us of that today while we were slaving away cooking up batches of baby food for our little ones. Mandy has this fancy shmancy baby food cooker that she's been wanting to use. So now that our munchkins are eating solids, we decided to give it a whirl. Mandy, her friend Jennie, and I busted out the machines this afternoon and got to cookin'. We also used two steamers and the food processor plus Jennie's machine to be more efficient. We ended up cooking sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, pears, and carrots...yum! It was super easy and cheap and lots of fun! Why didn't we do this sooner?!

(Yes, I know the labels on top don't match the foods inside...I got over should too)

Looking forward to making even more! Hopefully the kiddos like it. Thanks girls for a fun day!

So Fun!

We've been busy. Baby girl has been lately and since she and her buddy Jack can only entertain each other for so long Mandy and I decided to take them to My Gym. They tried out the Tiny Tykes class on Tuesday but it was a bit much for them...the youngest kids were 7 months old. They still had a blast though. Check out Mandy's post to see the pictures from that experience. (Yes, I feed my child by the way).

So today we went back to the Little Bundles (6weeks - 6months) class to check it out. They did some tummy time while socializing with their other friends...
(who is that gorgeous girl?)

Played in the bouncers...
 (This is SO fun, daddy!)

Tried to eat ALL the balls...

(I think I can fit a few more in my lap)

And couldn't decide if she loved
(This is quite lovely)

or hated the swings...
(Nevermind, this thing freaks me out!)

They also did some tumbling, singing, stretching, and dancing...whew!
All in all it was a good day. Right baby girl?
 (Do we HAVE to leave?)

Totally, mom.

What An Honor

So I found an email in my inbox yesterday that was dated January 3. Oops. Apparently I had overlooked it! What a bummer because when I opened it up, I was surprised (and honored) to discover that I had been given an award from Melinda at One Life Many Journeys. Thanks Melinda!

Apparently the stylish blogger award is given to recently discovered (and hopefully interesting) blogs out there. Most of these blogs are centered around crafts, DIY projects, home decor and just being creative. How exciting that my tiny little blog was "discovered" by fellow bloggers out there!

In following with the rules of receiving such an award, here are 7 things about me:
  1. I hate making lists of things about me.
  2. I love to cook and bake.
  3. I would rather do something right the first time than have to do it again...resulting in projects taking MUCH longer than they should!
  4. I have yet to finish my daughter's nursery (she is almost 6 months old).
  5. When decorating/creating/doing, I change my mind OFTEN which doesn't help my ocd (see #3). What's worse is I usually end up going with the first option in the end.
  6. I am learning more about photography and am excited to become better.
  7. I enjoy finding spelling/grammatical errors in books, magazines, posters, etc..
And here are 15 blogs/bloggers that I want to award as well:

Just Some Words
Trey and Lucy
Evelyn Fields
I Married Mr. Rogers
Impatiently Praying For Patience
Cookie Mondays
Life Abundant
Nature's Heirloom
Starter Home to Dream Home
Curbside Creations
Sweet Pickins
Muffins and Tractors
Tidbits From the Tremaynes
Ms. Smartie Pants

Visit their blogs and give them some love. Thanks for following this crazy blog and giving it some love! ♥

Easiest Cookies Ever.

I had these left over from the holidays so I decided to do some baking.

I found this cookie recipe while checking out Kim's blog. We went to VU together (oh so long ago) and I happened upon her blog somehow. Anyway, it's seriously the easiest cookie recipe, but the best part is you can put whatever you want in it!

Chocolate chips? Sure!

Butterscotch chips? Why not!

Peanut butter cups? If you'd like!

All of the above?? Yup, that's what I did!

Ok, here is the cast of characters:

1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. oats
2 eggs
1 box cake mix (whatever kind you want. I used yellow cake mix)
1 c. goodies of your choice

Mix oil, oats and eggs together for a minute

Next add one box of cake mix

Then stir in one cup of whatever goodies you want. So I may have misread the recipe and added a cup of each of those goodies. It may have been intentional, just perhaps.

Spoon (or form in a ball) on to a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. I actually bake mine for 12 minutes but I think it may have something to do with the massive amounts of goodies I put in there. Perhaps.

Try to let them cool before you devour taste!

Check out Kim's post to see some of the other combinations she's come up with.
Happy Baking!

All Better

After being cooped up in the house while we were sick, we decided to take a little field trip. What better way to get over the memory of being sick than to have something new to focus on?

(Oh, if she only knew what was about to happen...)

Can you guess what we did today?!
(Hey, lady, what IS that thing? Is it something I can eat??)

Yup, we added a little bling. She didn't really cry at first. I guess she was trying to figure out what we were doing to her. She tried to high-tail it outta there though when the girl went to the second ear but daddy held her down rather tightly. That's when she really started crying...probably because she knew she was stuck!

She cried for about a minute then she was done. And back to her happy self in no time!

Down And Out

We'be been thick.
Just laying low, watching tv (gasp!) and trying to rest.

(swaddled with Vicks, inclined, watching sesame street...totally content. uh oh)

Baby girl has started to recover but I probably won't be fully functioning for a couple more days.
We'll be back soon.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

After a morning at the doctor for shots, baby girl and I went to visit our friends. With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it had been a while since we had our last play date and we were both overdue for one. We were amazed to see how much the kiddos have grown just in the last month!

 (LOVE his eyes)

They were both sitting up, playing with their toys, and each other! They are much more aware of one another now and it's so cute to see them interacting.

Yes, we took pictures but apparently not very many of them together. OH well. Just imagine them playing with the millions of toys Mr. Jack has. Yet this is what entertained them us the most!

Anayah is getting Jack back for pulling the set down on her in their last photo shoot. Remember this?

Way To Go, Mom

I'm a horrible mom.

Let me set the scene for you: a hallway, a doorway, an infant that likes to see what's going on EVERYWHERE.

Here's how it went down: I was at my parents' house, walking down the hallway toward the kitchen. As I passed the laundry room, miss Anayah threw herself back just as I passed the door frame. Why? No clue. Maybe she wanted to see the washer and dryer. Who knows really.

Not sure if the bump on the head or the loud gasp I emitted scared her more. Poor baby had a bump and a red mark for a few hours.

Horrible mommy.

Don't call CPS.

She was back to her normal self in no time at all. Even with an injury, tummy time is a must.

Still Daddy's Girl

I was looking back through the blog at how much baby girl has changed when I came across this post. I remember thinking how cute it was that she was so interested in a book at 2 weeks old.

Some things haven't changed.

Their bond has only grown stronger through the months and she's still daddy's girl for sure.

2011 Here We Come

Hope everyone had a wonderful NYE and day! It's hard to believe a new year is already here. Did you make any resolutions? I usually don't make any, but this year I decided  to focus on a few things.

I want to laugh more...

Love more...

Pout less...

Enjoy the little things...

Discover new delights...

Love the animals...

and spend time with people I love.

I think we're off to a good start.

May this new year bring you all many exciting adventures full of love and happiness, and may you be blessed beyond measure! Happy New Year!
