Cute As Can BEE

Halloween 2010

Her costume was a bit too big but she was a trooper. We just might have to use it again next year! Hope you had a safe and fun night!

I'm In Charge

Who needs a bodyguard when you can handle things on your own?

Miss Anayah looks like she has things under control, doesn't she? Check out the smirk on that face. She thinks she's keeping him in line.Notice Jack is pinching her at the same time though...these two are going to be a handful! :)

Remember in this post where she looked so tiny next to him? Well apparently she has been doing some growing because they seem to be the same size these days. The only difference would be the size of their hands and feet. His are large and manly and she has these dainty little things.

These two are going to be good friends for sure!

Three Months

It's hard to believe it's been three months since you joined our family!

(She looks thrilled, doesn't she?)

The last three months have been such an amazing (and sometimes draining) experience. You've grown up so much that sometimes I forget that you're still just an infant. You have such a personality already and you definitely are not shy about showing it. You have been "talking" a lot more lately and laughing much more. My favorite part of the day is the first hour after you wake up in the morning. You are all smiles and laughs and so happy...and very social! :)

In the last month you have:

- finally grown out of your newborn clothes
- continued to be a great night sleeper
- started taking only 30 minute naps during the day (which is extremely frustrating)
- dropped to 4 or 5 feedings a day
- started to recognize mommy and daddy and greet us with smiles
- been working on your rolling over skills...you can roll about halfway then get stuck
- been drooling like crazy (teething already?)

Halfway through rolling over, before getting stuck...

We thank God daily for you and pray that you continue to grow and develop into a beautiful, happy, sweet, loving little girl. Happy three months, munchkin! We love you to the moon and back ♥

New Delights

I found this picture on the camera the other day...

What the?! It was daddy's turn to take care of her. Umm, why is my child sitting like that on the couch? First of all it looks painful and secondly, it can't be safe. Right? It clearly wasn't a matter of him not paying attention to what was happening. He took the picture. Obviously he knew what was going on. So what gives, mister?

Apparently she was staring intently at her feet! She recently discovered them and has been fascinated with them ever since! One of these days I'm sure they will end up in her mouth. Yum.

Good to know B was not only paying attention, but managed to capture such a silly moment for me. Thanks honey!

Fabric Flowers

I'm jumping on the fabric flower bandwagon.

Why not? They're everywhere these days, not to mention cute, and as I've recently discovered, very easy to make. I found a couple of tutorials that do a great job of explaining how to make these bad boys. My Sparkle has an easy tutorial to follow, Shanty2Chic has this option as well as this option, and Simple Analogy has a sewn option should you feel like busting out the needle and thread. I took all the info from these tutorials and mostly followed the instructions but pretty much making it up as I went along.

I started with a long strip of fabric...mine was about 16 inches long and about 2-3inches wide.

I folded it in half, glued it down, and rolled it a few times to get it started...

Then I started twisting the fabric as I rolled it around itself. I used a dot of glue every now and then to secure the layers (the tightness of the twisted fabric will determine the fullness of the flower). I kept going around and around until I got the size I wanted.

I glued them to the stretchy fabric I was using as the headband (I found the white material at Joann's in the lace aisle) and VOILA! something cute to stick on this cutie pie...

Oh the possibilities are endless! I'm sure you'll see them popping up on other projects I'm working on.

What Do You Think?

Do you think she looks more like

 mommy

OR

daddy?

I really can't tell.

Just Chillin'

Doesn't she look so much older in this picture?

Just lounging on the couch, wondering why you're bothering me by taking my picture!

Yikes, she's growing up so fast!

So Ridiculous

Remember in this post I told you about how Bri and I have been working out? Well we usually don't get started until after baby girl is in bed which means somewhere around 8:30ish. When we're done, we're both so sweaty that going to bed without taking a shower would not only be disgusting but just wrong.

Well, we just recently transitioned Anayah from sleeping in her bassinet to her pack and play (in our bedroom). I can't bring myself to put her in her own room yet. Even though our bedrooms are thisclose together, I feel better with her in our room.

Ok, back to the point.

Since we have to take a shower before bed these days, and she's in our bedroom, and our bathroom is open, and we don't want the noise to wake her up, we would normally just move her little bassinet outside the bedroom into the hallway while we took a shower and got ready for bed. Simple solution.

Not so much anymore.

This is how the conversation went...

M: So what are we going to do about taking a shower now that she's in her pack and play?
B: We can take a shower in one of the other bathrooms.
M: That means we have to move all our toiletries there then bring them all back.
B: Then let's just take a shower, she might not wake up.
M: No, not going to take that chance.
B: We can move the pack and play.
M: Seriously? It's kinda big. We should have just left her in her basinette.
B: The pack and play has wheels by the way, we'll just roll it.

That's how we found ourselves in this situation...

Yes, she is sleeping in her pack and play in the hallway outside our bedroom. Yes, that is her bedroom you see in the photo. Yes, she has a crib in her bedroom. Yes, we do this every night. So ridiculous, I know.

If I Were A Boy

If I were a boy, would I wear dress?

If I were a boy, would I have a pink blanket?

If I were a boy, would my mommy tell me I'm a pretty girl? (in front of other people)

I sure hope not.

For the lady that asked how old my "little boy" was, maybe this will help...
Just to avoid any further confusion.

False Advertising

Look what I found at Costco today:

Yum, Pat & Oscar's breadsticks are oh-so-good and so not good for me but I had to get them when I walked by the aisle. I was excited because not only was it cheaper than going to the restaurant to buy bread but it also came with the butter and garlic (you know it never tastes quite the same when you try to replicate it). See, it says it right here:

So imagine my disappointment when I opened the bag to find that there was no butter and garlic. What's up with that?! Did they all not have it or did I happen to pick the one bag that was missing it? Do I suck it up and deal or do I return it? Uh yeah, of course I returned it...well actually I had Bri return it. Ok, exchange it. Apparently people were opening the bags and taking out the butter/garlic packets in order to have extra! Losers. :)

We got one with a packet! Whoot whoot. Dinner was great, even though after all that, we didn't even have the breadsticks. It was the principle of the matter. Ha! Maybe later this week.

It's Insanity Around Here

I admit it. I'm out of shape. Totally and completely.

It's not like I can really blame it on pregnancy either. I mean, I didn't gain that much weight so it's not like I have all these "pregnancy pounds" to lose. I was out of shape before I got pregnant and that's just how it goes.

Well, Bri and I have started working out together (weird, but we have never done this before) when he gets home from work. We started doing the Insanity workout. Have you heard of it? I was quickly reminded just how out of shape I am during the warm-up. Yes, that's right, the warm-up. This workout is insane (pun intended) I tell you! We're sore, we're tired, and we're sweaty, BUT I'm actually enjoying it so far (well, as much as one can enjoy torture). I think working out with B helps since I have zero motivation to do any type of physical activity at the end of the day. It's a 60 day workout series. We just finished day 3. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll be rockin' a sleek new figure by Christmas. Ha, just kidding! I'll be happy just getting back into better shape. Wish me luck!

This is the front of Bri's shirt...can you imagine what the back looks like?! And he rarely sweats!

It's Been A While

I know, I know. It's been waaaayyy too long since I last posted. Time just flies by during the day and before I know it, it's time for bed. Can you really blame me for choosing sleep over blogging?!

So what's been happening over here? Nothing too exciting. Baby girl had her two month check up last week and she weighed just shy of 10lbs...I'm sure she's passed that mark by now. We've had a few play dates with Monster B and Sweet & Spicy, our buddy Jack, and have just been enjoying our days and the new experiences that come along with it. Here's a peek at what we've been up to:

Exercising...lifting some weights to be precise

Dancing (next to her favorite pillow)

Getting used to the cloth diaper journey

Bathing...she had so much fun she just passed out afterward

Speaking of bath, aren't her curls just so lovely? Most of the time her hair is straight like mine. Not sure if it will eventually change, but for now we only get to see them when her hair gets wet.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to get back on the blogging train again soon...at least part time at least. Not promising daily updates but a week and a half since my last post is just wrong. Until then...
